    Answer: Some of our clients have been running our software for six or seven years and have tens of thousands of events entered into their calendar's so in a certain sense you do not really have to do monthly or annual maintenance, however...every little bit counts.

    Periodically you may wish to delete and then remove unneeded events. You may do this by logging in as an admin or super user and then clicking on Administer | Manage Events | Delete Events. This page is documented here. After deleting old events you should then Clean Deleted Events to completely remove the events from the database.

    Deleted events are not actually removed from the database until you use the Clean Deleted Events function which physically removes deleted events -- this operation is unrecoverable. This generally speeds up the program because it no longer must skip over unneeded events to display a calendar.

    As a rule of thumb cleaning the database can be done when the number of events in a calendar aproaches 5,000 events.
